2nd April 2010 at 10am: Good Friday. A reading of the story
of Jesus’ crucifixion according to Luke, with choral interludes to
aid reflection.
4th April 2010 at 10am: Easter Sunday Celebration.
11th April 2010 at 10am: Baptism of Alexandra Woodhead.
All services feature The Old Cathedral Voices, a
one-voice-per-part choir of soloists rapidly establishing a
reputation as one of Melbourne’s outstanding vocal ensembles.
Conference Centre St James’ Court is an on-site Conference Centre
(indoor & outdoor) that can be rented out for Wedding Receptions,
Community & Private Functions, and Conferences. Contact the Office
for more details.
Museum A museum in the Old Cathedral houses many historical
documents, vessels, plans and photographs of great interest. It is
opened on request. A History of St James’ Old Cathedral can be seen
on video in the Museum.
Marriage and Baptismal Registers From 1837 the Registers are in the hands of the
Government Statistician. Those Registers dating from 1853 to the
present day are in the custody of the Old Cathedral and searches may
be made upon payment of a fee. Enquiries to the Office.
